RESTRUCTURED NETWORK NOW OPERATIONAL 24 March 2003

Network DiagramKennet Web are proud to announce that our recent network upgrades are almost
complete and a new network is already fully operational. Our network uses the BGP4 and HSRP routing protocols to ensure full resilience by removing all single points of
failure. The total network capacity has been significantly increased using
100Mb/s connections to all of our providers, ensuring that we have ample
capacity now and in the future.

Although we did anticipate some degree of downtime for some of our customers
we are happy to announce that we have been able to keep this to a minimum.

To your right is a diagram of our new network structure.

Server Changes 10 January 2002
In our ongoing efforts to ensure that we provide you with a premium service, we have recently been focusing on our hosting options. With our contract at ServerBank due for renewal it was clearly time for us to reassess the service offering there.

We have decided that a new server solution be planned to offer high bandwidth options at Telecity, while continuing to offer almost all of the benefits you have enjoyed while hosting at ServerBank.

The solution is to offer a range of highly reliable and resilient services at Telecity including an SLA, support and branded hardware.

One of the major improvements that we have made whilst developing this new service is a more resilient hardware structure, and greater power, with each server being twice as powerful than that currently used. Whilst still deploying branded HP hardware, the system architecture has been redesigned to provide a fully redundant solution. In the case of a single server failure all associated Virtual Servers will automatically be initialised on a fall back server, therefore dramatically reducing the amount of downtime experienced. In addition, an extension to the network infrastructure will remove all single points of failure on the network.

The new specification is as follows:-

Hewlett Packard Netserver LP1000R (Control unit) containing:
2 x Intel PIII 1 GHz professional CPU's
4 x 512Mb RAM

Hewlett Packard Netserver LP3000LH (contains the hard drives) containing:
Hewlett Packard SCSI hard disk drives, each of which are mirrored using Raid 5 configuration.

There will be 33 and 1/3 Mb/s of available bandwidth, which is currently running at around 40% of its capacity which means very low latency.

The current SLA of 99.5% uptime will remain unaffected.

There will be no change in the level of support offered for these services, remaining at the high standard that you will have come to expect from us.

May we also take this opportunity to wish you a Happy and Prosperous New Year.
