MEGA Server Upgrade ************************** We are upgrading our server hardware once again and moving to a truly 'Mission Critical' Network Operation Centre (NOC) - just take a look below... The next upgrade is a major step forward in our hosting services as we will be connecting directly to the Internet backbone and providing a server that will far outweigh it's needs. You will not find a hosting provider that can offer our new specification, at our prices anywhere in the world ! The server will be housed in a former Bank of England bullion vault, boasting physical security measures as impregnable as any MoD facility: A seven-foot thick granite and steel outer wall surrounds a two-foot bomb corridor, with a further seven foot granite and steel inner wall inside that. The only access to the vault is through steel bar outer gates and a five-foot thick bombproof vault door, ensuring the server hosting area is hermetically sealed. Over sixty motion detection cameras provide 24hr surveillance. High-resolution cameras, with image matching technology, identify every individual entering the facility. A separate, secure area, where customers can only access their own system, ensures access and movement is controlled throughout the facility. Bandwidth is provided via three tier-1 backbones (UUNet - www.uu.net, GlobalOne - www.globalone.net and Teleglobe - www.teleglobe.net) and we have unlimited bandwidth available. Power to the vault is supplied by a dual fed 2MVa substation, which sits on a high voltage ring. Eight Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) units work on an individual, but parallel system to guard against power failure. In the event of a significant power outage, three synchronised auto-start diesel generators guarantee a constant supply. We can now offer a 99.5% Service Level Guarantee for Network Connectivity and Power supply and we have an instant 24x7 cover for hardware/software failure.
